2017 GMC Canyon: Rugged and Refined

This year, the 2017 GMC Canyon receives a new engine, new connectivity features and a new Denali version for those who want a rugged truck that does not neglect comfort and refinement.

According to GMC, the 2017 GMC Canyon is the only high-end mid-size truck available on the market. When you take a look at all of the 2017 GMC Canyon’s specs, it’s easy to see why General Motors would say that, and also why the Canyon has been so popular since it was redesigned two years ago. Since then, many competitors have tried to do what the GMC Canyon does, but none have come close quite yet.

This year, the 2017 GMC Canyon receives a new engine, new connectivity features and a new Denali version for those who want a rugged truck that does not neglect comfort and refinement.

In terms of equipment, the 2017 GMC Canyon certainly has a lot to offer. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity features are offered, as is an infotainment system built into 7.0-inch or 8.0-inch screens depending on the version you choose. Choose From Three Available Engines for the 2017 GMC Canyon

Under the hood, the 2017 GMC Canyon receives a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 200 horsepower. This engine can be paired with a six-speed manual transmission, or a six-speed automatic. This powertrain was designed for buyers who want a fuel-efficient engine in their pickup truck.

Introduced recently, the 2.8-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel engine is also an attractive option. With its 181 horsepower and a massive 369 lb-ft of torque, it is a sturdy engine that provides a towing capacity of up to 7,700 pounds while delivering the best fuel economy in the segment.

In terms of safety, the 2017 GMC Canyon can be equipped with a lane departure warning system and a forward collision warning system, two features we are not used to seeing on a midsize pickup truck.

Different box formats are offered as well as a double or extended cabins. There are 13 attachment points in the box, and the versatility of the 2017 GMC Canyon can be further enhanced with GearOn accessories.
